How To Become An Egg Donor

Egg donation is a process in which a fertile woman donates an egg, or oocyte, to another woman to help her conceive. It is a part of assisted reproductive technology, or ART. While the process can vary depending on your particular experience and IVF clinic, the steps you can expect to go through include:

Application Fill out your application thoroughly. Remember that this is how our lovely customers will select you so make sure that your answers are complete and detailed.

​

Meeting We will contact you so that we may either meet you in-person or via Skype, to speak directly and go over any questions that you and your family may have. We will schedule your background check, psychological evaluation, and assist you in retrieving any prior cycle or personal birth/deliver records. We will handle your appointments for medical tests/screenings.

​

Matching We will find you an amazing family to match with once we can proceed. The doctor will approve the match upon review of your documents.

​

Review Once matched we will reach out to you to go over the details of your match so that you are familiar and comfortable with each step.

Medical If there are any outstanding tests needed, we will gladly schedule these for you. Your nurse will go over how to properly take your stimulation medications so that you are familiar with your protocol.

​

Legal Once you are medically cleared, your Intended Parents will initiate your legal contracts. You will have your own attorney to review and sign with. No worries, we will assist you with this as well. At this time your donor health insurance and escrow account will be set-up and completed so that all funds will be established ahead of time.

Calendar After legal clearance, your IVF facility will provide you with a cycle calendar; this has all dates of the last portion of your cycle until the time of your egg retrieval, so there will be no surprises and you will be fully aware of every step in order.

Payment Your payment will be sent after confirmation from your IVF facility that the retrieval was concluded.

Egg Donor Requirements

To guarantee the best possible outcome for you and the Intended Parents, you need to meet the following criteria. If you are unsure of your current qualifications, do not hesitate to contact us for more information. We are more than happy to walk you through the introductory process to assess whether donation is right for you.

  • Ages 21-27

  • No health issues within your immediate family, such as Diabetes, Cancer, MS, Autism, etc.

  • Non-smoker and Non-drug users

  • No history of mental illness

  • IUD’s that are Copper or Hormonal will have to be removed

  • Currently not taking any medications for blood pressure, anxiety, depression, etc.

  • No tattoo’s or piecing’s within 6 months without a health certificate from the facility or Artist

  • No STD’s within one calendar year from the day you are applying

  • Fully committed to your cycle and the responsibilities/requirements that go with it

  • Have a reliable vehicle to get to your appointments

  • Smoking and/or heavy drinking is prohibited, nor should you be surrounded by marijuana/tobacco smokers. You will be tested several times in these regards for you and the child’s health and safety.

  • Communicate by phone and email as needed and in a timely manner

  • Promptly contact us if you have moved, changed your phone number, email, marital status, cycle or childbirth status and/or any pertinent information

  • Check your messages and voice mails at least once in the morning and once in the evening before 17:00, this in case something has been asked of you or needs to be shared with you immediately
